My Oil Boiler isn’t working. What should I do?
Check that your boiler has oil.
Check that the gauge is working.
Make sure that the programmer is turned on and working.
Check that your room thermostat is set high.
If you have pressurised heating, make sure there’s 1bar on your pressure gauge.

My Gas Boiler isn’t working. What should I do?
If you have a gas-card, make sure that there’s money on the meter.
Make sure that the programmer is turned on and working.
Check that the room thermostat is set high.
If you have pressurised heating, make sure that there’s 1bar on your pressure gage.

One of my radiators isn’t working. What should I do?
If you have a pressurised system, make sure there’s 1bar pressure.
Turn off all other radiators in the house, leaving the broken one on, to possibly remove an air-lock.

I have no water in my system. What should I do?
Ring your local water utility company.
Check with your neighbours to see if they have any water.
If your cold water storage tank is in the roof, check to see if there’s any water in it.
If you still have no water in your system, please call DW Dunn.
Where is my engineer?
Our engineers are unable to predict before a day begins on the time scaling of their day. They have a certain amount of jobs within a day, however, some jobs take longer than others presenting unforeseen complications. This is why when booking an appointment we are unable to give a precise time, promising the impossible!
How much do you charge for quotations?
Absolutely nothing! We offer FREE, NO OBLIGATION, QUOTATIONS.
How often should I service my boiler?
Your boiler should be serviced annually, as recommended by manufacturers. The service entails checking, cleaning, testing and pre-emptive fault-spotting, with the emphasis on testing all the different functions of an appliance for correct and safe operation.
What is a Landlords responsibility for gas and oil safety?
It is a legal requirement for gas appliances in rented properties to be checked at least once a year. We are able to provide Landlord Safety Certificates.
It isn’t law as of yet for oil appliances to be checked annually, however, we strongly recommend they are so.
Are you LPG engineers?
Yes, we do deal with LPG appliances.
Are you AGA engineers?
Yes, we do deal with AGA appliances.
I urgently need an engineer at my property for an emergency. Can you accommodate this?
We offer an emergency service where your name will go up on our emergency board, where we will send an engineer to you as soon as possible within a 24hour time period, in order of emergency priority.
What is your range of plumbing jobs?
We are more than happy to deal with any plumbing job, large or small. From unblocking a toilet or sink to installing a kitchen or bathroom; to tiling floors and walls.
Will I get a shock on receiving my invoice?
Once the engineer has identified the problem with your appliance, if any major parts are needed, we will always discuss with you the pricings of works before going ahead with anything.
